Problem Description
At apparently random times, the CWSTrace program produces a message saying “Runtime error 5: invalid procedure call or argument.”

The CWSTrace utility has been modified to handle the condition that was causing the message.

SCR 8606 – Increase Imported File Limits for Cases

Increase the individual file size limit from 1.2MB to 2MB for Cases

Release 7.1.1 completes the implementation of SCR 8606 by raising the individual per-file limit from 1.2MB to 2MB after compression – not only for imported files, but also for documents based on system templates and county-specific templates. This increased limit applies to all file types supported by CWS/CMS.

Although Release 7.1.1 completes SCR 8606, further related changes will be coming with SCR 8577 in November’s Release 7.2.  SCR 8577 will expand the ability to import files not only to Cases, but also to Referrals as well as to Case Plan, Client, Court, and Placement. It will also add Office 2007 native .docx and .xlsx to the list of supported import types.

CWS/CMS Users please note:

  • It is strongly recommended that the user log off the application each night to insure that they are working with the latest version of the application.
  • It is recommended that the install of Interim Release 7.1.1 occur via the office network, as opposed to a remote connection.
  • Contact your County Support Staff to confirm that the correct version has been delivered to the workstation.
  • Users that are logged onto the system when the release arrives will not be using the new code at their workstation.
  • Like major releases, Interim Release 7.1.1 will be using a full installation package.  This is an intentional departure from the way Interim Releases’ were handled before R.7.0.  There is no outage.
